Binata Marik, Ph.D
About Dr. Marik
Binata received her Ph.D in human genetics and performed postdoctoral research in immunology at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Delhi, India. She has a master's degree in biotechnology from the same institute. She worked on the genetics of refractory rickets during her Ph.D. and complement-mediated hemolytic uremic syndrome in her training. She worked as a scientist at the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) headquartered in Delhi, where she researched public health and epidemiology. She joined the lab as a postdoctoral research fellow in October 2022 and is currently working on the genetics of angiogenesis. Her role is to discover potential candidate genes involved in the process of angiogenesis using mouse models, which can help find potential therapies for diseases caused by abnormal angiogenesis.
